Colt Starting Clinic:

John takes young horses with limited handling through the necessary steps to accept a

blanket, saddle, bridle and rider. Emphasis is given on understanding that a horse is a

prey animal and we as people are predators. The young horses learn to accept outside

stimulation and look to his handler for guidance, confidence and leadership.

And... yes John can train horses and people to drive. The photos below are from a

driving clinic for Pamlico County Horseman's Association. The clinic demonstration

featured horses at various stages of training from just being started to finished driving

horses. Thanks to all of those who brought horses to the clinic. And a very special

thanks goes to Dr. Roy Taylor and his lovely wife Jane. Their generosity and gracious-

ness for the use of their facility, their beautiful Saddlebred horses and wagons, as well

as all the food they provided for our club members and guests was very much

enjoyed and appreciated.
